Preparatory activities:
Tools and materials used:
- transparent glasses, electric kettle, cold plate
- tap water, snow, ice
Activity:
- Experiment to observe the change in the state of aggregation of water
Subsequent activities:
- Discussion of bodies in the three states of aggregation
- Observation of work tools
- Spotting the differences between the snow, the water in the glass and the steam coming out of the mug of hot water (color, density, volume, temperature)
- Observing transformation phenomena in real time
Results:
- Obtaining water vapor by boiling/evaporation, water droplets from vapor by condensation, turning snow into water by melting, ice from water by solidification-freezing
- Understanding the phenomenon of water movement in nature and its importance for the life cycle on earth.
